Three of Sotogrande’s four championship golf course have been featured in the recent Top 100 Courses in Continental Europe list by Golf World. With some significant climbs in ranking, this further highlights the strength of golf offering in the region.
The new rankings place the globally renowned Real Club Valderama at #6 on the list, once again recognising the former Ryder Cup host venue as the #1 course in Spain. Host to several professional events including the LIV Golf series and prior to that, the Andalucia Masters on the DP World Tour, Real Club Valderrama continues to enthral golfers from around the world as a true bucket list destination in the golfing community.
Sotogrande’s oldest course, Real Club Sotogrande was ranked at number #12 on the list and #2 within the national Spanish rankings. This represents a significant jump of 9 positions for this Robert Trent Jones Snr classic that oozes strategy and an examination, that is somehow gentle yet exacting. Described as “beautifully presented and a memorable round from the inviting first tee shot”, Real Club Sotogrande lives up to its charming reputation.
Also featured in the ranking is La Reserva Club. Moving up 6 places from its previous position into the #53 spot. This also pushes its position to #7 amongst the best courses in Spain.
