Mark the last weekend in November on your calendar: the Los Alcornocales artisans bring their local and traditional Christmas fare to Sotogrande Marina, offering handcrafted gifts and gourmet treats, while just a short drive away at Hacienda Almoguera, another festive fair awaits—making the artisans the true stars of the occasion for Christmas shopping and seasonal inspiration.
Nature Meets Noel: The Los Alcornocales Artisan Christmas Fair
The Christmas Fair features handicrafts and gourmet products from Los Alcornocales Natural Park and takes place on Saturday 29 November 2025 at Ribera del Marlin. Come for a stroll, discover gifts including leather crafts, ceramics, natural cosmetics, local meat and cheese, sweets, honey and much more.
Christmas Fair at Hacienda Almoguera
Celebrate the season at the Hacienda Almoguera Christmas Fair in Los Barrios on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November 2025, 11 am to 6 pm, just 25 minutes (27 km) from Sotogrande. Entry is €2, with ample parking. Founded in 1797 by the Larios family the historic farmhouse opens its doors for this atmospheric event, ideal for finding Christmas gifts. Enjoy mulled wine, mince pies, gourmet treats, and an artisanal market, alongside festive fun for all ages, from tractor-trailer rides to pony rides and face painting. Since 2007, this beloved Christmas Fair has been a local institution, combining seasonal cheer with community spirit in a countryside setting.
The fair supports local charities; donations of non-perishable goods are accepted on the door. Located on the Carretera Vieja de Los Barrios (CA-9202) at km 4. Parking available.
Sunday Christmas Market
From 30 November until 14 December the traditional Sunday market at Ribera del Marlin in the Marina takes on a Christmas theme.
Lighting of the Sotogrande Christmas tree
The lighting of the tree signals the start of an enchanting programme of festive events. Visitors and residents alike will be swept up in the festive spirit of Sotogrande, where Christmas truly begins when the tree lights are switched on. This year, seasonal cheer will come to the marina on Saturday 6 December 2025, as the Christmas tree on Ribera del Marlin is illuminated at 7 pm. The celebration continues with a much-loved tradition: Sotogrande International School singing popular Christmas carols, filling the air with joyful melodies. It’s a perfect family occasion.
Festive Charity Celebration at Plaza Blanca
Head over to Plaza Blanca on Sunday 7 December 2025 from 11 am to 2 pm for a day of festive fun and giving. At 11 am there’s a 5km Charity Run/Walk departing from Feathers Fitness — don your favourite Christmas jumper or hat. A €10 donation supports a great cause. At 12:12 midday, the SIS International School Choir will sing classic Christmas carols, spreading festive cheer throughout the plaza.
Visitors can also enjoy Christmas wreath-making workshops, browse handcrafted holiday gifts, and indulge in seasonal treats including hot chocolate, mulled wine and gingerbread. Of course, Santa Claus will make a special appearance, and a prize raffle adds an extra touch of excitement. All proceeds from the day will benefit Centro Contigo La Línea and Apoyo Mutuo in San Roque, supporting meaningful local causes while celebrating the spirit of the season.
Live nativity scenes
Live nativity scenes are an important feature of the Christmas season in villages all around Spain – townsfolk dress up as characters in the nativity story. The San Roque Belén Viviente traditionally takes place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 December from 11 am to midnight (Saturday) and to 10 pm (Sunday) in Plaza de Armas. This nativity scene is organised by the Hermandad de Nuestra Señora del Rocío, and it includes nativity characters along with animals, craftsmen, merchants and Roman soldiers.
Christmas Carols in English
A popular Carol Service in English is held each year in the Sotogrande Church Nuestra Señora de la Merced (Calle Bellota 305) – this year the date is Sunday 14 December 2025 at 12 midday. The service will follow the traditional nine lessons and carols format. Singing will be led by the Camerata choir as well as choirs from Sotogrande International School. The service will be followed by mulled wine and mince pies.
The Beach Turns Festive at The Beach, La Reserva Club
Celebrate the magic of Christmas .On December 14th enjoy Ancala’s exquisite menus, featuring their signature dishes designed for the whole family. The day will be filled with seasonal cheer, including fun Christmas workshops for children and a special visit from Santa Claus himself!
Christmas Giving
Christmas is a time to remember those less fortunate, especially children. What better way to spread cheer than by gifting a toy? On Sunday 14 December, at the traditional Sunday market, the Charity Hogar Betania is hosting a toy collection, inviting the Sotogrande community to embrace the generous spirit of the season. All donations will go to families in need, ensuring that every child experiences the magic and joy of receiving a gift this Christmas.
