Sotogrande has been recognised for its quality, both on and off the course, by recently placing 17th in the Golf World’s ‘Top 100 Resorts Continental Europe’ rankings.
Sotogrande is the highest riser in the rankings, up more than 10 places from 2020, which in Golf World’s view is a reward for the quality of the strategic investment across the resort in recent years.
The comprehensive list ranks Europe’s most desirable golf resorts with a total score awarded out of 100. The rankings reward resorts that excel with their quality and diversity of accommodation and real estate, deliver the ‘wow factor’ in terms of setting, and offer much more than just golf.
The list was compiled by Golf World’s group of knowledgeable and well-travelled panellists, with additional input provided by leading golf holiday operators, Golfbreaks, Your Golf Travel, and Golf Escapes.

The news follows La Reserva Club’s recent recognition by Golf World, placing 30th
within its ‘Sotogrande ranking. The new Continental European Resorts rankings combines all facilities, siting La Reserva Club specifically combined with the recently rejuvenated loops of nine at Almenara Golf, and the newly opened 5-star SO/ Sotogrande hotel, to complete the Sotogrande resort offering.
The resort scored a total of 82/100 and jumped 10 positions from where it last placed in 2020 to sit in 17th.
